The nature of the overshot design is the development of a three dimensional profile on a two dimensional surface, giving a rich texture to the touch. This method of weaving dates back several hundred years and has found expression in many European weaving traditions. The use of color in the pattern works off the physical character of the weaving pattern, enhancing the depth of the work as it plays with light. Marsha uses a wide range of fibers in her work allowing her to range from wearable works to rugs and wall art.
