Fiber

 Creating a delicate, fluid art form, Pavlos’s work combines manipulation of both the surface and structure of fiber.

"Fiber art IS fine art…" Pavlos states. The fact that fiber art can hang on the wall or on your back, gives it a unique range. As an educator and artist he is always pushing his work with experimentation. His work ranges from traditional methods such as Woven Shibori to dyeing with shaving cream. The ability to do the unexpected comes through with the great variety and depth of his work. At the same time he has well developed skill and control in his technique and it is reflected in the quality of his work.

Foam dyeing allows for developing faux marble and multi-layered effects, a fast freeform technique. In contrast Shibori, is woven fiber that incorporates a supplemental weft thread and is used in combination with resist, requiring planning and direct control of the fiber.
